ABOUT ME

A little bit about me: my name is Dolores Alonso and I am 15 years old. If I could describe myself in one world it would be “determined”; if I have a goal I will do my best to accomplish it. When it comes to hobbies I like dancing as well as reading. Like most readers, I have a cat, and reading while he sleeps is a mood. But on the contrary when it comes to writing… well, it is a challenge for me. I will practice with you, through this blog. Juntos. I was born in Argentina and I am currently living there. Spanish is my first language but English comes out just as easily, plus I really don’t like translated books and my favorite authors write their amazing novels in English. My favorite genres are romance  and fantasy; I have been obsessed with the latter this last year. As seen in the pictures on the left, Cassandra Clare is the best author that could exist. All her books are gold to me. 

 

This blog, with my bookstagram as well (@overflowingpages if you haven’t seen it yet), are part of a project started because of school, though I am eager to continue it in the long run. I decided to choose the topic of books because... who wouldn't? Talking seriously, it was because, not so long ago, I started reading more and more books until I found myself loving them. When I read I am able to escape this world and live in a new reality, a place where nothing matters except getting lost in the soft feel of paper and being consumed slowly by each enthralling word. Obligations disappear, freedom soars, and we can be anything. I am desperate for other people to discover this comfort, the feeling of flying without leaving the ground. My goal is to inspire you, whether you are a newfound reader or an avid one like myself, to find the book that opens the right world for you. I seek to encourage you to be able to open yourself to these new possibilities and get to know the reading community I and so many others take part of. These places (blog and Instagram) are here for you to express your opinions and doubts about either a book or a review of mine. I want to hear you, so we are able to communicate, share experiences and expand our horizons on these topics. I don’t want you to feel the pressure to read many books. Just read. Have fun. Find something that inspires you and cling to it.  Nobody is looking for a number, just good experiences. If I can help you get closer to this, then my goals will be fulfilled. <3
